Sen. Webber showcases Sterling Heights TARUS facility as leader in aerospace manufacturing

LANSING, Mich. — Michigan Aerospace and Defense Caucus Co-Chair Michael Webber recently led fellow legislators on a tour of the TARUS facility in Sterling Heights.

“As the Arsenal of Democracy, Michigan has a proud history of manufacturing excellence in the fields of defense and aerospace,” said Webber, R-Rochester Hills. “Innovative companies like TARUS not only keep our nation flying in the skies and blasting off into outer space, but they also help propel us into the future.”

TARUS has established itself as one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of high-precision, large-volume computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Its five-axis CNC machines are utilized by tooling manufacturers for almost every type of aerospace application from general aviation to space travel.

The company is set to be honored at Tuesday evening’s Sterling Heights City Council meeting as it celebrates 55 years in business.
